Christou Pigadi Beach Karpathos

Christou Pigadi beach, which in Greek literally means "the well of Christ", is found in the southwestern part of the beautiful Karpathos about fifteen kilometers from Pigadia, the capital, the nerve center of the island.

Its name comes from a natural phenomenon that sees water gush from the rocks through underground spring channels directly from the bowels of the earth.

The whole area is actually made up of two nearby beaches, one larger and one smaller but both beautiful with a soft sand coast mixed with some pebbles, bathed by a clean and crystalline sea with crazy colored waters. that change from light blue to turquoise and let's face it a little cold but with the temperatures in high season it is just a few seconds of thrill, as soon as you acclimatize you will no longer want to come out of it. The seabed gradually degrades thus allowing the little ones to have fun in safety while the adults can relax under the warm rays of the sun and reach the perfect tan.

A few kilometers long, it is partly equipped with sun beds and umbrellas and is considered the most cosmopolitan of the Karpathos Island. There is no shortage of beach bars where you can sip a cool drink or a quick snack to break hunger and also a typical tavern where you can sit comfortably and let yourself be conquered by the dishes of classic Greek cuisine and local recipes.

Not far away, we also find the Damatria beach with a Caribbean flavor with colors to leave you breathless, a wild and luxuriant nature and finally hidden coves where you can have total privacy and maybe just you. Both the Christou Pigadi beach and the Damatria beach are sheltered from the wind or rather Damatria for a part near the rocky wall so a real boon since Karpathos is famous for the oddities of Aeolus.

It should be emphasized that in the Christou Pigadi beach there are no trees, natural shade even if you look for it with the lantern, all perpetually kissed by the sun, so if you decide to settle in the non-equipped part, remember to have something to shelter you to avoid unpleasant burns and maybe spoil your holidays in Karpathos.
