Kalamos Beach Ios

2 minutes to read

Kalamos beach is located south on the east coast of the Ios island.

A very quiet beach, almost deserted and little frequented by mass tourism, obviously not the peak season where you can find a few more people.

It is a long coast of soft sand with golden shades, where the sea with colors that go from turquoise to emerald have extremely clear and crystalline waters.

The bay surrounded by rock walls covered with olive and almond trees, is one of the areas most suitable for lovers of relaxation and underwater activities. Being very wild, it is not equipped with amenities, you will not find sunbeds, umbrellas or beach bars, so if you decide to visit it during your holidays in Greece, bring everything you need to spend the day, from water, to a hat, to cream sunny and something to put under your teeth in case you feel peckish.

Kalamos beach is a suitable place for those who love to enjoy the sun, take long swims in a transparent and clean sea and have fun snorkeling discovering the marine fauna, in short, a real refuge from the frenzy and where to stay in close contact with Mother Nature .

How to reach Kalamos beach

Is very easy. With your own vehicle, travel the road from the port of Ormos for about fifteen kilometers to the Kalamos Monastery where you will find the Byzantine monastery of Agios Ioannis dating back to the 19th century where the most important religious festival is celebrated every year on August 29th, and just after the church there is the beach. Another way to reach Kalamos instead is to follow the road to Manganari passing through the village of Mylopotas.

Include in your preferences the Kalamos beach, it will be a breath of serenity for your body and your mind.
