In the area there are four water parks: near Chersonisos on the road to the Lasithi plateau, which is also the oldest and most famous golden beach, where, among other things, you can try bungee jumping from 30m high; Bravo located in Ammoudara beach a few kilometers from Heraklion and Water Ski Park in Anopoli about fifteen kilometers east of Heraklion on the old road to Aghios Nikolaos. You can also visit the Jockey Club located in the village of Pitsidia 4.5 km north-east of Matala. Visitors can go around the nearby beaches on horseback (Matala, Messara valley, Aghiofarago, Kommos beach and more) where riding lessons and children's programs with pony are also given.
