Covid-19 Updates Summer 2020 Greece

Here are the latest news of our beloved Greece communicated on 9 May 2020.

The Greek Prime Minister Haris Theodoharis is making bilateral agreements with various states in order to manage the summer season in the best and absolute safety in order to allow holidays throughout the territory.

Obviously, we are waiting for May 18th to find out what the precise and confirmed directives will be.

GUIDELINES FOR HOTELS

In each tourist area, a government-paid "Quarantine Hotel" will be allocated where all tourists who during the holidays will present symptoms of CORONAVIRUS will be allocated.

Each hotel or facility will have the obligation to contact a doctor who will decide whether the tourist should undergo the COVID-19 test. The test results will be available within 6 hours and if the tourist is positive he will immediately be transferred to the pre-established quarantine hotel.

All hotels or facilities will have special training regarding hygiene standards.

There will be no buffets in large hotels but the service will probably be à la carte.

If the hotel or facility has a swimming pool, the sunbeds will be placed at a safe distance and there will be a disposable cover for each persons.

FLIGHT DIRECTIVES

In order to reach Greece, it will be important and imperative to have a health certificate that declares to be negative to COVID-19 in the last 72 hours.

Without the certificate you will not be able to board the plane.

The checkerboard system on aircraft will not be adopted, they will travel fully loaded.COVID-19 will not be tested for positivity or negative when tourists leave Greece.
