And finally it is worth taking a trip to the petrified forest of Kerasia about fourteen kilometers inland from the village of Agia Anna. A natural monument made of petrified logs up to twenty meters high dated between ten and fifteen million years ago. Scientists also found remains of large mammals such as the two-horned rhinoceros and the low-necked giraffe.
