Lefki Beach Elafonissos

Lefki beach is considered the Elafonissos crystal, a hidden and wild gem.

Once visitors are almost always on the island, they have the desire to reach the most famous and undisputed queen of Simos beach , but not before the ritual questions, which are the beaches to visit in Elafonissos ? In this regard, we can answer that another wonder to discover is certainly the small Lefki beach.

On the eastern side of the island, on the road leading to Simos beach, there is Lefki beach (Lèfki) which translated from Greek means "white", like its very fine silk sand. Its colors have nothing to envy to its most imposing sisters is undoubtedly another jewel of the Elafonissos island.

It overlooks Vatika Gulf and right in front stands the Neapolis town where the characteristic Faraklò and Mesochori villages stand out in the mountains. At night the stars illuminate it and the lights on the coast are reflected in its sea as in an impressionist painting and enhance even more its beauty.

A small lagoon with a thousand blue and emerald shades that mixes with the color of the white sand, with its rocks and waters with a seabed rich in colorful fish with a tropical appearance, make Lefki beach a small pearl of Elafonissos. Fortunately it is not equipped, it remains free for lovers of wild and DIY holidays.

For the lucky ones who can experience the island outside the tourist circuit in August, they will find in Lefki the place of dreams, heavenly and lonely, for those who can visit the Elafonissos island during peak periods, the "first come" better stay.

So arm yourself with everything you need to spend your day snorkeling in its small coves admiring the seabed and if you are lucky you can also swim with the wonderful caretta-caretta sea turtles who love the fresh waters of this beautiful blue lagoon and which they will surely give you unforgettable moments of meeting these ancient specimens.

Every year in its waters we see finds of various entities, from archaeological to wrecks, amphorae, anchors, defused bombs of the Second World War, submerged treasures that history gives us by witnessing the great sea passage that extended near the Cape Maleas, the extreme eastern tip of the Peloponnese visible from here. To color even more the magical atmosphere that you can already breathe naturally on the Efalonissos island, the legends that have been handed down from generation to generation on the passage of pirates along the coasts and its beaches.

Often the Lefki Bay becomes the refuge of small boats, since with the southern winds, it is the most peaceful place on the island.

The nearest refreshment points are a few meters further on towards Simos beach.

Before reaching Simos you will notice on your left a small chest of iridescent colors, rich in arid vegetation, here you are.

At this point you just have to admire it with your own eyes because no photo will ever do justice to this masterpiece of natural art.
