Polis Chrysochou Beach Cyprus

2 minutes to read

The Polis Chrysochous Beach, we find it in the southwestern part of the amazing Cyprus Island in the district of Pafos also called the fishermen's bay. Its correct location would be between the port of Latchi on the western side and the  of Camping Dasoudi beach on the eastern side.

Two words about the village of Latchi that deserves them. Once a small suburb, it has now become one of the most sought after destinations for a holiday in Cyprus due to its extremely peaceful environment which, despite progress, has managed to preserve its pristine virginity and the atmosphere of the classic Cypriot coastal village. Near its port, the nerve center of the village, there are typical taverns where you can enjoy always fresh fish dishes and seafood, a pleasant pedestrian area with cafes, shops and some little places where to have an aperitif, nothing more, if you are looking for nightlife, here is not the right place.

But we come to the Polis Chrysochous beach we can say that it is the municipal beach of the village of Polis. Awarded the Blue Flag for the quality of services and the beach itself, it extends for about a kilometer and a half (in reality one part is the Polis beach, the other is the Latchi beach), a coast of sand mixed with pebbles with a light color, clean and transparent waters of an intense and sparkling blue with a bottom that descends quite quickly but fortunately, given its position, the sea is always very calm. Let's say that the most organized part is about 450 meters long and is equipped with sunbeds, umbrellas, toilets, changing rooms and a restaurant bar for something fresh to drink or eat. For a moment of relaxation, a fresh green area of tall palm trees with a seating area and a playground for children where they can let off steam until they drop.

On average, the cost of an umbrella is around € 2.50 per day and not just, the beach is patrolled by trained lifeguards always ready to help swimmers for a perfect and serene day at the beach. A peculiarity on the Polis Chrysochous beach that is difficult to find, the Beach Polis lido, has a special wheelchair that allows disabled people to be able to enjoy a refreshing bath in total safety and the system is installed on the whole beach. Seatrac which provides people with mobility problems full access to the sea.

If you want to take a break from the beach, you can go to the discovery of some of the most beautiful gems of Cyprus such as the Baths of Aphrodite through incredible views and mountain paths where you can discover the beauty of the Akamas Peninsula that will surely leave you with indelible memories.

How to get to Polis Chrysochous Beach

Head south west towards Paphos then following the road signs towards Polis. It would be better to have a means of one's own to be more independent. When you arrive at your destination you will also have a large free parking lot where you can leave your car or scooter.

However, for those who decide not to rent a vehicle, there are public buses that depart from the main seaside resorts and arrive at the port of Latchi, from there you will then walk a little bit on the seafront until you find the equipped part of the coast. If you are not a lover of comfort, there are also free spaces where you can spread your towel.

To mark among the things to see in Cyprus, perhaps also combined with a nice tour of the Peninsula that hosts it for a day full of nature and culture.
