Nissi Beach Cyprus

2 minutes to read

And here we are at the most "lively" beach in Cyprus, Nissi Beach. We find it in the north east of the island in the charming and lively town of Ayia Napa, a mecca for the entertainment of young people.

Wedged in a beautiful bay it is considered one of the most beautiful in the Mediterranean and is in the top 50 of the most beautiful beaches in the world. A small earthly paradise with a coastline almost six hundred meters long and thirty meters wide of soft white sand, bathed by a transparent and crystalline sea that goes from blue to turquoise to bright blue with sandy bottoms that gently descend perfect for families with children.

All around an almost exotic environment with palm trees, surrounded by green mountains that join sea cliffs and a small island suspended in the sea. Here the sun shines 270 days a year and the sea is always peaceful given its position, a real Eden.

There is space for everyone and everyone can choose their favorite part to spend a day at the beach. The whole beach is super-equipped with sunbeds, beach umbrellas, beach bars to drink something fresh or eat, water sports ranging from classic windsurfing, banana boating, paragliding to interesting dives to discover the abyss and finally, lifeguards who supervise. on your safety, in short, impossible to get bored. We can define the central part as the most sparkling one, where young people and party-goers are concentrated here. Foam party, international DJs that to loud music make rivers of people dance until late hours with the latest hits, live concerts and theme nights are just an example of what you can find in Nissi Beach.

The eastern part, on the other hand, is more peaceful and sought after especially by couples and families who do not want to give up a fairytale sea but without too much noise. Here you can relax and sunbathe with a colorful cocktail in hand. For sports lovers, in the western part you can find beach volleyball, football and volleyball fields. The area is also very popular with walkers.

A peculiarity of Nissi is the small islet from which the beach takes its name. A place to completely merge with Mother Nature, it is not for nothing that it is highly appreciated by naturists. To reach it, a narrow strip of land connects it to the shore but always pay attention to the tide times because in the moment of high flow, the only way is by boat.

Nissi beach is only three kilometers from Ayia Napa, and after the day on the beach you can move to the tourist resort full of taverns, restaurants, places to have an aperitif and where you can find a very wide choice of nightlife. The nights of Aya Napa are famous throughout Europe, in fact many young people, especially Northern Europeans, gather every summer in this beautiful area of the Cyprus Island.

After a nice refreshing dip, you could take a trip to the Water World Themed Waterpark or if you want history, visit Famagusta to experience the tragedy of Othello with your imagination.

How to get to Nissi Beach

Very simple, direction Ayia Napa and follow the road signs, impossible not to find it. If you are staying in the town, you can get there either on foot with a nice walk or by buses that run every day at different times. Always check the timetables to organize yourself better.

When is it best to go to Nissi Beach

In Cyprus, the season begins in late April thanks to its latitude which offers a mild climate for almost the whole year. June and September in our opinion is the top, August and July a little overcrowded and above all the temperatures rise over thirty degrees, but it is still a fantastic experience.A must to put on the list of things to do in Cyprus, in order to say I've been there!
