Coral Bay Cyprus

Coral Bay beach, we find it in the northwestern part in the municipality of Peya about ten kilometers from the charming seaside resort of Paphos, a very popular destination for a holiday in Cyprus especially for families with children.

The whole coast is very well organized with sunbeds, umbrellas, lifeguards from April to October who watch over bathers to ensure peaceful days at the beach, some kiosks where you can find something fresh to drink or quick snacks when the peckishness of the stomach begins to be felt, and for sports lovers, a wide choice of activities ranging from the classic banana to the jetsky, to the paragliding to rise on the water and admire the landscape from above, to the legendary pedal boat up to the possibility of renting small boats and heading towards wide to indulge in the warm rays of the sun.

The Coral Bay area, in addition to its large and well-known beach, contains another small pearl, the Potima Bay beach. We find it about a kilometer and a half from the village of Kissonerga towards the south of Coral Bay. Its name owes it to the fact that water was first found here (in Greek potima - potizo means vessel to drink, potiri - glass). An expanse of soft golden sand, bathed by clear waters with a landscape behind it rich in vegetation. Potima Bay owes its fame above all to the large amount of banana trees that surround the beach. It is the perfect place to admire the sunset so much so that benches have been specially positioned in the direction of the sunset where you can comfortably sit down and take a memorable photo. The village behind, offers typical taverns where you can sit and taste the local delicacies and Greek cuisine which in Cyprus has a great Middle Eastern contamination due to its geographical proximity.

In the Coral bay you can also go to visit the important archaeological site of Maa Paleokastro dating back to the 13th century BC and the Museum dedicated to it where there are finds of the civilizations that lived in this land in the Late Bronze Age up to 1200 BC.

Another site not to be missed is the Archaeological Park of Kato Pathos where there is the great necropolis of the 4th century BC with the Tombs of the Kings and its royal tombs that will make you take a dip in the past and understand the importance of Cyprus in the Hellenistic and Roman period.

You will also understand for yourself that Cyprus is still a "comfortable" island, almost everything is really very easy to reach and Coral Bay is also part of it.

If you have a rental vehicle, wherever you are staying, head southwest following the road signs to Paphos.

If on the other hand, you are not autonomous, from the main towns there are buses that will take you directly to the area and to the beaches of the southern part.
