Platis Gialos Beach Kefalonia

Platis Gialos beach is located in the south-west part of the Kefalonia island, not far from the town of Argostoli, the capital and also not far from the characteristic Lassi village.

Platis Gialos is located just after the most well-known and popular Makris Gialos beach. Much smaller than Makris Gialos, it is a soft golden sanded shoreline bathed by limpid and crystalline waters with a low and sloping seabed. For the cleanliness of the sea and the excellent conservation of the surrounding nature and services, it is always awarded the Blue Flag.

At its ends rocks, rocky walls that shelter it from the wind, and a fantastic environment full of green hills and lush vegetation, a bit like a small Eden. Platis Gialos beach is suitable for families with children as being shallow at the beginning, the little ones can have fun safely. Even for snorkelers the area is very suitable for the presence of a thriving marine fauna and finally, excellent for those who love to take a walk on the shore.

The quiet and peaceful beach, therefore perfect for those who want to relax and stay in contact with nature, is partly equipped with sun beds and umbrellas (the cost is around € 10 per day) and a beach bar for a cool cocktail or snack light and fast. On the end there is a concrete platform where the showers are located. A part is completely free and as always we recommend that you bring something to protect you from the sun.

Is simple, with any type of vehicle, follow the signs for Argostoli and for the beach that will wait for you with a convenient free parking. For those who are not in possession of any means, from Argostoli there are buses that leave daily and arrive directly at the beach. If you are staying near the capital, you can also reach it with a nice walk.
