Petani Beach Kefalonia

Petani beach is located in the western part of the Kefalonia island, exactly on the Luxouri peninsula about ten kilometers from Paliki.

Very similar to the most known beach of the island Myrthos Beach, it is located in a curved bay and is about six hundred meters long and fifty wide. It has a coarse sandy coast with a light color, washed by a transparent and turquoise sea, with shallow waters that descend gently and therefore suitable for families with children, for lovers of long swims and snorkeling for the very lush marine fauna. . All around rocks and high limestone rocky walls covered with undergrowth that shelter it from the winds like a tender embrace. In Greek the word Petani means "a lot of water all year round". every year it is awarded the Blue Flag for the transparency of its waters.

Petani beach is partly equipped with sun beds and umbrellas and behind it a bar-restaurant for eating or local cuisine or for a quick and light snack and a cool drink. A part, on the other hand, is totally free, therefore more peaceful, so if you decide for this area, remember to bring everything you need to have a little shade.

To reach Petani beach is quite easy, let's say that the road is a little zigzagging but nothing demanding and that it offers a beautiful view since the beach is located just below the promontory. With your own vehicle, follow the directions and you will arrive at one of the available car parks, one is paid and the other is free.

Petani beach, however, gives its best at sunset when everything turns orange creating a suggestive and unforgettable scenery.

Being a very popular beach, in the summer it is quite stormed even if being very wide you are not right on top of each other, so if you want to enjoy this little corner of Eden, it would be better to go or early in the morning, or in the late afternoon so that you can also admire the sunset.
