Myrtos Beach Kefalonia
It is difficult to say which is the most beautiful beach in Greece, in our opinion they are all beautiful, each has its own particularity and then you know everything is always very subjective. Certainly not to be missed if you are in Kefalonia for your holidays in Greece is Myrtos beach.
It is located in the Pylaros region in the north west of Kefalonia about thirty kilometers from the capital and three from the Agia Eufemia village. Reaching it is extremely easy with your own means or by public buses. After reaching the Divarata village, a two kilometer descent begins where you will find this beautiful beach at the end. Another way to get there is by sea with a private boat.
The natural scenery you will find is incredible, a half moon surrounded by high rock walls and green hills with a sandy shoreline and small white pebbles smoothed by time and a sea that goes from electric blue to turquoise to dark blue that contrasts with the beach white. On the left side of Myrtos there is a sea cave where you can snorkel.
The beach is well equipped with sunbeds, umbrellas and a snack bar for a cold drink or a quick snack. On the coastal road near the village of Divarata instead you will have the choice between traditional Greek taverns offering local and international cuisine.
According to our point of view, the best time to come to this little corner of Paradise is in the morning even if the late afternoon hours are no less because you can attend one of the best sunsets that can be seen in Kefalonia when, the sun swallowed by the sea colors the horizon orange and pink. Definitely a romantic glimpse of the island where a photograph to capture the moment is a must.
Another point to admire the view is from the upper part, following the coastal road towards the Assos vllage, a convenient clearing will give you an extraordinary view and even here the photo spontaneously takes.
Awarded every year with the Blue Flag, it is among the ten most beautiful beaches in Europe and believe it deserves all this recognition because Myrtos is truly suggestive and fascinating.
Logically in the summer months it is very popular and not so quiet, but surely a day in this place painted by Nature must be done.
