Marpunta Beach Alonissos

Marpounta or Marpounda Beach, we find it in the most extreme south of the Alonissos Island about three kilometers as the crow flies from the capital Patitiri and just below the Vythisma Beach.

Well known and very touristy, it consists of two narrow splendid coasts, both of soft golden sand mixed with small pebbles in a peninsula enclosed in a bay bordered by white cliffs. An idyllic landscape where nature despite the human presence is still intact and offers views to take your breath away.

The sea that bathes the Marpunta beach, has clean and crystalline waters with colors ranging from blue to turquoise to blue. The seabed drops quite flat and is perfect for families with children. The largest part is equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas at a cost of about € 10 per day and it is also possible to have fun with water sports involving the whole family or to challenge old and new friends. As for the catering service, you will be spoiled for choice since the area is particularly well known and rich in accommodation facilities, here one tavern after another will offer you dishes based on fresh products and the Greek or local tradition.

The smaller part, on the other hand, less folkloric, also has a sandy beach mixed with pebbles and a wonderful sea with clear and clean waters, is not equipped. Here you can spread your towel where you will feel most inspired and enjoy a total sunny day sheltered from the wind given the natural protection of the cliffs.

The beach of Marpunta, hosts a beautiful resort of the Settemari brand the Marpunta Village much loved by the Italian public as it is included in the Alonissos National Marine Park, the first to have been instituted in Greece and which deals with the protection of the endangered species of Mediterranean monk seal. A perfect place for a relaxing family holiday surrounded by lush and generous nature where you can forget the hectic life and indulge in a well-deserved rest. The structure offers all-inclusive or half-board and still only breakfast for those who want to be completely free from timetables.

Very simple, from Patitiri they are less than four kilometers and you can decide to travel them either with a taxi, or with your own vehicle or with the local bus (always pay attention to the timetables).

Last chance, among other very pleasant ones, a nice walk, from the capital it takes about twenty minutes through a wonderful landscape.

Honestly, we do not think that the Marpunta beach is one of the best on the Alonissos Island, others are of a much higher level, but the fact remains that taking a leap there will not be a disappointment anyway but a small piece more on the knowledge of this beautiful island.
