Glyfa Beach Alonissos

2 minutes to read

Glyfa beach, we find it on the east side of the Alonissos island in the north about three hundred meters from the picturesque Steni Vala village, a small fishing village where you can taste excellent fresh fish and delicious seafood. Patitiri the capital is about ten kilometers away.

A splendid bay in the midst of lush valleys with a still intact and natural environment with a spectacular view of the majestic Aegean Sea. In front of the Peristera island, once a crossroads for navigation and where traces of an ancient shipwreck are found, as well as a refuge for the endangered species of the Mediterranean monk seal, it is a coast of sand with a light color mixed with some pebbles, bathed by a sea that goes from green to turquoise to deep blue. Its waters are crystal clear and clear and the seabed descends slowly making it perfect for families with children and for lovers of long and regenerating swims.

An inviolate environment, not yet exploited by mass tourism, where you can spend a quiet day at the beach and enjoy the warmth of the sun's rays. The watchword on Glyfa beach is relaxation and nature, nothing more, but what else can you ask for for an unforgettable holiday in Alonissos?

For the most part it is not equipped, you can put your towel wherever you like, however in some places there are some sun beds and umbrellas to rent. As for catering, a couple of taverns can offer fresh drinks, quick snacks or for the more demanding complete lunches based on classic Greek cuisine and local specialties.

Here life is made up of simple but genuine things where Mother Nature still predominates and by the way we send you to ensure that this little paradise corner remains as such with the utmost respect.

Visiting Glyfa beach you can also take the opportunity to take a trip to the beautiful Agios Dimitrios beach considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world by sea by taking a taxi boat or by hiring a small boat from the Steni Vala village.

For camping enthusiasts, there is a campsite near the Glyfa beach and all the main amenities in the village such as mini markets and various shops. There are also some accommodation facilities if you want to stay directly in the area and have a stay in the name of peace and beautiful sea.

How to get to Glyfa Beach

However, let's say that the island of Alonissos despite its small size is well served and offers several possibilities to visit it. However, the fastest and most comfortable is a rental vehicle that is a car or a scooter, they are good in both cases. Keeping Patitiri as a reference, head north east following the signs for Steni Vala. By public transport, however, always from the capital there are daily trips that arrive at the beach of Glyfa in twenty minutes (always check the timetables).

Another pearl to be included among the things to do in Alonissos to enjoy a wonderful landscape and spend a pleasant day based on sun and fantastic sea.
