Chrisi Milia Beach Alonissos

Chrisi Milia Beach or Chrissi Milia (call it as you prefer), we find it in the southeastern part of the beautiful Alonissos island, about six kilometers from the capital Patitiri.

Inside a splendid inlet, it has a long shoreline of gold-colored sand sparkling under the sun (in fact Chrisi means gold in Greek), and is considered the most beautiful and most popular beach in Alonissos.

The sea that bathes it has amazing colors in shades of turquoise with clean and crystalline waters. The seabed slopes gently so that up to about twenty meters from the shore the level is low, therefore perfect for families with small children who can have a lot of fun in total safety.

On the sides of the beach there are rocks that magically emerge from the sea, creating real natural pools where you can indulge in a refreshing bath and where snorkelers can discover the mysterious underwater world. For the shade there is no problem, the maritime pines will be natural parasols.

Given its position, it is always protected from the winds and the vagaries of the god Aeolus, making it ideal for a beautiful and relaxing day at the beach. It is perhaps one of the best equipped on the island with sunbeds and umbrellas at around € 7 per day with the opportunity to have fun with different types of water sports and challenge old and new friends. A bar for something fresh to drink and quick to eat and a traditional tavern for those who prefer a full meal comfortably seated with the legs under the table and a respectable natural setting.

One drawback to the detriment of Chrisi Milia beach is the fact that in some places it goes in the shade towards the early afternoon so if you want to make the most of it, it would be preferable to get there early in the morning so as to take advantage of all the possible light maybe even making you a pleasant one walk on the water's edge. A second solution is however to move to the nearby Milia beach which is instead under the sun until sunset.

Nothing easier in this case you will be spoiled for choice. As always, the most comfortable method is to have a vehicle that is a scooter rather than a rental car so as to be completely free from any time constraints. From Patitiri direction north east and less than five kilometers following the road and the signs you will arrive at the beach where a large free parking awaits you.

For those who prefer public transport, from the capital there are daily trips at the price of € 5 per person round trip. As always, we invite you to check the timetable which may vary according to the seasons.

For those who love walking, on the other hand, in 30/40 minutes it is possible to reach Chrisi Milia, among other things passing through a fairy pine forest and contemplating a screaming panorama.

Those who love cycling, on the other hand, experience no less, always from the road that can be traveled on foot, it is possible to venture on two wheels.

Finally, for the "missing sailors" or simply lovers of navigation, from the port of Patitiri there is a boat that takes you to the beach in a quarter of an hour.

Here we think that there are several alternatives to get to this fantastic coast that must necessarily be included among the things to see in Alonissos.
